Air flow performance The air flow range, or air throw, is the distance reached by the air jet before its speed decreases and equals the reference speed, assumed to be 0.2 m/s. The throw depends on the speed of the air leaving the heater, which in turn depends on the air flow rate and on the section of the heater air passage. Below is a graph showing the air speed as a function of the distance from the heater outlet.
