6 Hand tool description The hand tool essentially consists of a crimping head, two handles, a ratchet mechanism, a crimping die, a hinged terminal holder and a hinged wire stop. The crimping die contains two crimp nests suitable for the en- tire cross-section range of the terminals to be processed.
7 Crimping procedure Based on the wire cross-section and the relevant processing specification, determine the right crimping die for the terminal to be processed. Proceed as follows to crimp the terminal: Close the handles until the ratchet of the ratchet mechanism releases and allows you to fully open the handles.

Insert the wire with seal, stripped according to the processing specification, into the crimp barrel of the terminal until it reaches the wire stop.

Hold the wire against the stop and press the handles together until the ratchet mechanism releases. Let the crimping tool open fully. Note: Stop pressing the handles of the hand tool when the ratchet mechanism releases. You will hear a dis- tinct click.
