This note describes how to configure the ISDN LAN modem on a static
network. If you have not determined whether your network is static, refer to
the Getting Started Guide.
If you have not already installed the ISDN LAN modem, refer to the diagram
while following the steps.

Before you begin, power down the computer you will connect to your ISDN
LAN modem.
Insert one end of the Ethernet cable into a 10BASE-T LAN port and then

connect the opposite end of the Ethernet cable to your computer's Ethernet
port.
Caution: Only connect one computer to the ISDN LAN modem until after
you have finished the configuration process. After configuration, you can
connect any additional computers and/or printers which you would like to
add to your LAN. Also, do not connect the ISDN LAN modem to an existing
LAN.
Connect the RJ-45 (8-pin) connector end of the RJ-45/RJ-11cable labeled

ISDN to the port labeled ISDN and then connect the other end to the RJ-11
ISDN wall jack.
If you are connecting analog equipment, connect one end of an RJ-11 cable

(provided with your analog device) into one of the RJ-11 modular jacks

    ISDN LAN M ETTING P THE ODEM This chapter describes how to setup the Windows and Macintosh operating Setting Up TCP/IP for system (OS) TCP/IP stack. Your computer must have a TCP/IP stack in order to Windows and use the ISDN LAN modem. If you already have TCP/IP installed and set up on Macintosh your computer, then go on to “Configuring the ISDN LAN Modem”.

    ISDN LAN M ETTING P THE ODEM This section describes how to configure the ISDN LAN modem for the typical Configuring the ISDN configuration. The typical configuration provides the basic set up and it includes LAN Modem what most users need to get up and running. It provides instructions for setting up your ISDN line and connecting to the Internet for a static network.
  • Page 9 For Windows NT 4.0 Users 1 From the Start menu, select Settings and then Control Panel. 2 Double-click Network and then select the Protocols tab. 3 Highlight TCP/IP and then click Properties, 4 Click the IP Address tab and then select the Ethernet card associated with the ISDN LAN modem from the Adapter drop down list box.
  • Page 10 ISDN LAN M ETTING P THE ODEM 9 Click OK to close the Microsoft TCP/IP Configuration screen. 10 Close the Network Drivers window. 11 Click OK to close the Network Setup window. You will be asked to restart your computer. 12 Click OK to do so.
  • Page 11 The Set Password window appears. This password is used to guard access to the ISDN LAN modem’s configuration program. If you would like to restrict access to the configuration program, select a password and record it in a safe place. 3 Enter a password in the Password field and then enter the same password in the Password (repeat) field to confirm it.

Refer to the OfficeConnect ISDN LAN Modem User Guide for instructions on configuring your ISP connection manually. 8 In the Name field, enter the name of your ISP.
