3. MAINTENANCE

BLEEDING THE FUEL SYSTEM

Bleeding air from the fuel system may be required

1. After the fuel filter has been removed or any fuel lines have been disconnected
2. If the fuel tank has been allowed to run dry
3. After long-term storage
Bleed air from the fuel system. Check for leaks.
1. Loosen an air plug.
2. Check fuel leakage of air plug.
3. Operate manual pump up and down. Bleed air from the fuel system.
4. Start the engine after screw air plug.
Replacing the fuel filter periodically will significantly reduce injection pump and fuel injector
wear.
ENGINE OIL & OIL FILTER
Stop the engine when you change engine oil, fuel oil cartridge or check engine oil level.
Checking and adding engine oil
1. Always check oil level before starting.
2. Wait at least 5 minutes after shutdown to get an accurate oil level reading.
3. Wipe the dipstick clean, insert it all the way in and remove to get the correct oil level reading.
4. If the oil level is below the lower mark on the dipstick, add oil through the fill port on top of the engine.
