PLEASE READ THESE INSTRUCTIONS IN ITS ENTIRETY BEFORE ATTEMPTING TO COMPLETE
THIS PROCESS.
PLEASE NOTE THAT LEFT AND RIGHT REFERENCES ARE AS YOU ARE FACING THE HOUSE.
1. Using the hand crank, unroll the awning until the fabric is completely extended. Do not lock the
rafters.
2. Rotate the left end cap so that it is aligned with the fabric slot. Remove the fabric stop that is on the
left of the fabric with the supplied 5/64" Allen wrench.
3. On both sides, using a 7/32" Allen wrench, remove the flat-head cap bolt that secures the arms and
rafters to the roller assembly. While your helper supports the roller, separate the roller from the ends of
the rafters and arms on both sides. Slide the roller off the fabric.
Note: If your roller has Phillips screws that secure the drive unit and left roller insert, go to step
4a. If your roller has drive rivets that secure the drive unit and left roller insert, continue with step
4b.
4a. Remove the Phillips screws from the both ends of the roller bar (3 on each side). Go to step 5 at this
point.
4b. On both ends of the roller bar, using a small nail or punch, drive the centers of the three rivets all the
way thru into the roller. Pry the rivets out of the holes with a flat screwdriver.
5. Remove the drive unit and the left roller insert from the roller bar. Remove the three remaining fabric
stops with the supplied 5/64" Allen wrench. Slide the valance out of the roller bar.
6. Insert a fabric stop into the fabric and valance slots of the new roller bar and position them at the right
end of the roller bar, making sure the large flat end is pointing toward the center of the roller bar. Tighten
with the supplied 5/64" Allen wrench.
