Using the V-Chip (parental control) feature

The Motion Picture Association of America (MPAA) uses a rating system
to qualify motion picture content. Television broadcasters also employ
a rating system to qualify the content of television programs. The TV
and MOVIE ratings work with the V-Chip feature and allow you to block
programs according to the rating limits you set.
To use the V-Chip to block programs by rating:
1. Press MENU, then press
2. Press or to select V-CHIP, then press .
3. Use the Channel Number buttons (0-9) to enter your password.
Press ENTER. The V-CHIP menu appears.
4. Press or to highlight V-CHIP.

5. Press to highlight V-CHIP SET.
Then, press to display the V-CHIP SET
menu.

OFF : TV RATING is not set
TV-Y : All children
TV-Y7 : 7 years old and above
TV-G : General audience
TV-PG : Parental guidance
TV-14 : 14 years old and above
TV-MA : 17 years old and above
• When you select TV-Y7, TV-PG, TV-14,
or TV-MA, press RECALL to explain the rating. Press
select the desired rating you want. Press
setting ON or OFF.

G : All ages
PG : Parental guidance
PG-13 : Parental guidance less than
13 years old
R : Under 17 years old Parental
guidance suggested
NC-17 : 17 years old and above
X : Adult only
8. Press MENU repeatedly until the menu screen is cleared.
Note: To return to normal viewing immediately, press EXIT.
When you try to view a program with a ratings block, a message will
appear listing the program's ratings. The program can still be viewed if
you enter your password to temporarily bypass the block.

• If you forget your password, press RECALL

is in password entering mode. This allows
you to reset your password.
• You can use V-CHIP SET (DTV) function
when the digital broadcasting with a new
rating system is received on the TV.
