Vehicles without ECO start/stop function
Loosen fastening strap ;.

Remove ball coupling : from the ball cou-

pling recess.
Vehicles with ECO start/stop function:
the attachable ball coupling is in the ball cou-
pling recess in the stowage well underneath
the luggage compartment floor.
Open the luggage compartment floor

Remove ball coupling : from ball coupling

recess ;
Pull protective cap : down in the direction
X
of the arrow out of the ball coupling recess.
Place protective cap : into the ball cou-
X
pling recess.
Pull protective cap ; off the lock in the
X
handwheel.
Insert key : into the ignition lock.
X
The red mark on the handwheel must be
aligned with the green area on the ball cou-
pling (fitting position). If this is not the case:
Turn key : in the direction of the arrow.

The key is released.
Pull handwheel ? away from the ball cou-
X
pling and turn it clockwise until it engages.
The green area on the ball coupling is
aligned with the red mark on the hand-
wheel.
Insert the ball coupling in the direction of
X
the arrow into ball coupling recess = until
it engages.
Handwheel ? turns so that green mark
A on the handwheel is aligned with green
area B on the ball coupling.
