Learning the Basics
Using Standby
To put the computer into Standby mode when you press the
power button or close the display panel, you must preset the
mode:

Click Start, Control Panel.
The Control Panel window appears

Click Performance and Maintenance.

Double-click the Toshiba Power Saver icon.
The TOSHIBA Power Saver Properties window appears.

Click Details in the Running on batteries section.
The Full Power Properties window appears.

Click the System Power Mode tab.
