Media Center Setup

Connecting the External Remote Sensor

The external IR remote sensor is a small device that connects
to the computer and allows the remote control to work with
the Media Center programs.
If you have a cable TV set-top box, satellite, or other set-top
box that controls your TV signal, connect the remote sensor
control cable to the remote sensor and position the end of it
over the remote receiver on your cable box.

Connect the IR transfer cable to the port on the IR
receiver.

Peel off the adhesive backing on the IR receiver and
position the end of the control cable over the remote IR
receiver window on your cable TV set-top box.

Connect the IR receiver USB cable to the computer's
USB port.

Install batteries in the Windows Media Center remote
control.
Connecting the TV Signal Source
Connect the signal source for your TV using a TV (IN)
coaxial connector as follows:

Plug the connector of a coaxial cable from your TV cable
(wall or set-top box) into the TV IN connector on the
external TV tuner on the computer, and carefully tighten
it.

Turn on the TV and select the TV IN video source (refer
to your TV set reference manual as necessary).

program settings (refer to
