SAFETY INSTRUCTIONS RECOMMENDED USE The LAVINA® ELITE machine is designed and manufactured to grind and polish concrete, terrazzo, and natural stone floors. It can be used for renovations as well as for polishing. The machine is designed for dry or wet use. When using it dry, use a vacuum of appropriate size.

A first-time operator must always read the manual and pay attention to all safety instructions. All electric connections and cables must be inspected for potential damages.

HANDLING AND TRANSPORTATION 3.1 ADJUSTING THE HANDLEBARS To adjust the handlebars, turn the handlebar adjustment handle counterclockwise to loosen the clamp [1]. Position the handlebars in the appropriate position depending on the task [2], and tighten back the clamp by rotating the handle clockwise.

This can be done with or without the head attached. SEPARATING THE HEAD To seperate the head, start by removing the vacuum connection.

    Superabrasive User Manual Original Language Lavina® 14EU May 12, 2020 FOLDING THE MACHINE To fold the machine, turn the center console adjustment handle clockwise to the unlocked position and push up on the handlebars [1]. Move the center console in position [C] and it and lock it place by turning the center console adjusting handle counter clockwise.

Connect the vacuum extractor and ensure that the vacuum hose is clear and it will follow the machine easily. Make sure that the electrical motor is connected to the power box and then connect the power cable to a power outlet.

    Superabrasive User Manual Original Language Lavina® 14EU May 12, 2020 4.3 TOOL MOUNTING The Lavina® 14EU uses tool holder A64. With this new holder every one of our tools uses the “Quickchange” connection. To mount tools, begin by unlocking the butterfly with the provided key. Remove the security plate and set it aside. Load the desired tool as shown below, insert the security plate and lock it in place again by rotating the butterfly with the key.

    Superabrasive User Manual Original Language Lavina® 14EU May 12, 2020 4.4 OPERATING THE MACHINE Guide the machine in straight lines across the floor, slightly overlapping the previously completed surface with each new line. Work at a constant speed, allowing the tools time to work at a speed appropriate for the tools’ grit size. Avoid vibrations. Do not stop the machine while tools are still running as they will mark the surface of the floor.

Cleaning the machine on a regular basis will help detect and solve potential problems before they cause damage to the machine. Most importantly, check and clean the tool plate connections and vacuum hoses.
