6.10.2 What is Contour Matching?
What Is Contour Matching?
This function is used to seek where a registered template image is within a search area. The number of
checkers that can be set is up to only two per Product Type including Rotation Adjustment (Contour). If
an image is detected after searching, the positions of X/Y coordinate values, Rotation Angle (in 0.1
degree), and Correspondence (Corr.) are output and it is judged "OK"; otherwise, it is judged "NG".
For a gray image, the difference in the gray value is regarded as contour information about a template.
AX40 checks whether an image is the same with or similar to the template image on the basis of the
contour information about the edge of the extracted parts and not extracted parts of the registered image.
If an image like the template exists and its correspondence is more than the preset correspondence
value, it will be detected. But, if there are multiple images that are similar to the template, the position of
the image with the highest correspondence value will be set as a detection position.
