8. Setting up unit using PC software
In the following paragraphs the individual operating parameters
of the data-logger are described. The basic requirement for
setting up the unit is that the RS 232 serial interface cable is
connected to the serial port of the PC.
8.1 Start PC software
Click the relative PC software ICON in the Windows level.
On initial start a data base must be created for the data-logger.
In order to do this operate the sub menu UNIT, point
"Display/change unit settings" or click
Then click „New unit". For further identification the unit can be
described by entering a unit identifier, location and any further
information required.
End input by operating "OK". Now the software automatically
makes connection with the respetive unit.
For manuaI setting up of the PC interface connection the unit
type in the default settings displayed on the screen. The actual
settings for the data-logger are then automatically set and
stored.
Check that the interface port (COM-Port) on the PC
corresponds with that on screen.
Attention: If the wrong PC port is installed communication from
the PC to the data-logger cannot be made.
