You'd be hard pressed t o find a Bluet oot h headset wit h more feat ures t han Plant ronics' BackBeat Pro+. Act ive noise
canceling? Check. NFC? Sure. Bluet oot h and 3.5mm plug? Yes, definit ely. Mult ipoint t echnology? Oui. And t he list goes on and
on. Name any opt ion and t he Pro+ likely has it . If you're looking for a jack of all t rades headset , you'll wast e a lot of t ime
t rying t o find one more versat ile and feat ure-filled t han t he BackBeat Pro+, but t here's more t o t his pair of headphones t han
gimmicks and long feat ure list s. The Pro+ shines in some inst ances t hat I didn't know I'd appreciat e and falls flat in some
ot her places where I had higher expect at ions. The result is t hat I love it but can't recommend it because t here's a bet t er
opt ion hiding not so far away.
I am not a lover of large headphones. I am not even accust omed t o wearing t hem for more t han an hour and I'm definit ely not
t he kind of person who would go out and seek such a headset . I like small in-ear earphones, t he smaller t he bet t er, and I hat e
feeling pressure against my ears or carrying any weight on my head. The Plant ronics BackBeat SENSE t hough, t hat I reviewed
last year, changed my perspect ive a lit t le. I loved a lot of t hings about t hem, but hat ed t he on-ear design, so I kept t he
brand on my radar unt il I could get my hands on an over-ear model t hat should, on paper, be easier for me t o manage.
And I was right . Even t hough t he Pro+ weighs 340g t o t he SENSE's 140g, it is more comfort able for me t o wear for longer
periods of t ime because it doesn't exert any physical pressure on my ears. I have list ened t o more t han t wo hours of music
on it , non-st op, wit hout any complaint . I won't deny t hat I felt some relief by t he t ime I t ook it off, but at least I wasn't
t empt ed t o rip it as far away as possible from my head in less t han 10 minut es. That 's a big nod of approval for any headset I
t ry. But I'm get t ing ahead of myself here so let 's go back t o t he beginning of t he st ory.
Packaging and Design
The BackBeat Pro+ ships in a huge box t hat just screams badass. Even t he present at ion of t he headset , once you open t he
box, is impressive wit h t hat faux-rock effect . It 's nice, but most import ant ly, it keeps t he headset safe during shipping.
Inside t he box, you'll also find t he carry sleeve, 3.5mm cable, MicroUSB cable, and Bluet oot h USB adapt er. The lat t er is
basically all t hat different iat es bet ween t he regular BackBeat Pro and Pro+: it 's already paired wit h t he headset and makes it
easier t o st ream audio from any comput er, regardless of whet her or not it has Bluet oot h connect ivit y.
