3.3. Maintenance procedures

3.3.1. Maintaining the glass door

The glass is cleaned while it is cold. The easiest method is to use the efficient KASTOR NOKI-POIS
cleaning fluid (available in hardware stores). See instructions on the packaging.
Although the glass is hardened, it should be treated with care (do not knock it, slam the door etc.).

3.3.2. Changing the glass

Detach the door lower hinge.
Carefully lift the door.
Open the glass holders with nuts (6pcs)
Carefully remove any glass splinters. Remove the seals if they are in bad shape.
Tape new seals to the frame edges.
Place the glass in the frame and centre it.
Place the glass holders and nuts, tighten evenly crosswise (do not overtighten)
Place the door back on the upper hinge.
Attach the bottom hinge (make sure that the door is straight)
Check that the door works properly and the glass is tight.
An incorrectly installed glass can inhibit the burning process and cause defects in fireplace and glass.
3.3.3. Detachment and installation of combustion chamber insulation and flame
regulation plate
The combustion chamber's insulation plates can be replaced when necessary.
Detaching and attaching the insulation:
First, remove the side isolation
Insulators page is removed by moving the lower edge of the insulation in the middle of the
furnace, after which the top portion is threaded off. Hold the flame regulation plate at the same
time, when you remove the other side of the insulation.
Remove the flame regulation plate
After this, the rear wall insulation can be taken off.
Replacement
Place rear wall insulation against rear wall.
Set the flame regulation plate in place support with the other hand, when you insert a side
insulation in place, first upper side and move the lower side of the insulation in place.

3.3.4. The fireplace and its surroundings

Maintenance on the fireplace is performed once it has cooled. Wipe off the dust regularly and when
necessary wipe the surfaces with a rag dipped in mild soap water (e.g. dish washing liquid + water).
Dry with a dry rag.
Keep an eye on the door's seals to prevent air leakages that might inhibit the burn process.
Wipe the dust off the fireplace's base and surroundings regularly.

3.3.5. Ash removal and chimney sweeping

Let the fireplace and ashes cool down before you remove the ashes.
Use a metal container, preferably with lid and store the ashes safely before you dispose of them.
Remove the ashes before each heating. Make sure that the hole at the rear of the ash box remains
open.
Avoid fire hazard – make sure that the ashes are cold before you empty the container.
