7. Correct use
The . FLYER . is . intended . for . transporting .
one .person .only. .
Carrying luggage is only permitted if appropriate
equipment .is .fitted .on .the .FLYER .and .the .luggage .
is .securely .fastened.
The maximum carrying capacity of the luggage
rack as well as the maximum permitted total
weight of the vehicle must not be exceeded (see
Technical .Data).
Permitted total weight:
Rider .weight .+ .FLYER .weight .+ .battery .
weight .+ .luggage .weight .+ .trailer .weight
If . they . are . equipped . according . to . the . national .
laws, .FLYERS .of
Type 1
City and touring bicycles
may .be .used .on .public .roads .and .paved .paths.
FLYER . specialist . retailers . and . the . manufacturer .
shall not be held liable, and the warranty will be-
come invalid, in the event of use that goes beyond
the intended purpose, if safety instructions are not
complied .with, .if .the .FLYER .is .overloaded .or .used .
off-road, . o r .if . d efects .are .improperly .repaired. . T he .
guidelines for servicing and care must also be
observed .in .order .to .retain .liability .and .warranty.
Your .FLYER .is .not .designed .to .withstand .extreme .
use . – . e.g. . riding . down . stairs, . performing . tricks/
jumps/stunts
or .racing .in .official .competitions.
Type 2
MTB – suspension travel up to
approx. 120 mm
may .be .used .on .moderate .terrain .such .as .fields, .
trails .and .cross-country .courses. .It .may .be .ridden .
over small obstacles such as roots, stones or
steps. .Appropriate .protective .equipment .(a .suita-
ble .helmet, .gloves) .must .be .worn.
Retailers and manufacturers shall not be held
liable in the event of use that goes beyond the
intended . purpose. . This . applies . in . particular . to .
failure to comply with safety instructions and the
resulting damage, for example caused by:
• use . on . rough . terrain, . jumps, . steep . descents, .
bike parks
• Overloading .or
• improper remedying of defects
FLYER . E-MTBs . are . not . designed . to . withstand .
extreme . use, . i.e. . riding . down . stairs, . performing .
tricks/jumps/stunts . or . racing . in . official . competi-
tions.
FLYER . E-MTBs . are . not . compliant . with . StVZO .
(the . German . regulations . authorising . the . use . of .
vehicles . for . road . traffic) . ex . works . and . therefore .
are .not .authorised .for .use .on .roads. .Please .ask .
your .FLYER .specialist .retailer .about .making .your .
FLYER . E-MTB . StVZO-compliant . if . you . wish . to .
ride .it .on .roads.
Type 3
All Mountain – suspension travel up
to approx. 160mm
may .be .used .off .road. .It .may .be .ridden .over .ob-
stacles .such .as .roots, .stones .or .steps.
Small .jumps .are .permitted. . A ppropriate .protective .
equipment .(a .suitable .helmet, .gloves, .protectors .
if . necessary) . must . be . worn. . Retailers . and . man-
