Driving and operating
To start the engine, press the brake
pedal in either P or N position.
Do not accelerate while engaging a
gear. Never depress the accelerator
pedal and brake pedal at the same
time.
When a gear is engaged, the vehicle
slowly begins to creep when the
brake is released.
Engine braking
To utilise the engine braking effect,
select a lower gear in good time when
driving downhill.
Refer to manual mode 3 99
Rocking the vehicle
Rocking the vehicle is only
permissible if the vehicle is stuck in
sand, mud or snow. Move the shift
lever between D and R in a repeat
pattern. Do not race the engine and
avoid sudden acceleration.
Parking
Apply the parking brake, engage P
and remove ignition key.
Sport mode
(If fitted)
The sport mode can be selected
where maximum responsiveness is
required.
When operated in sport mode, the
transmission will delay upshifts and
allow earlier downshifts.
In addition, the transmission can
sense enthusiastic driving, at which
point it may delay upshifting and
downshift earlier when braking. This
is designed to maximise vehicle
performance.
To activate sport mode:
1. Move shift lever to position D.
2. Push the shift lever to the left.
Sport Mode On will appear for 3
seconds in the Driver Information
Centre.
Do not move the shift lever to + or
-, otherwise the manual mode will
be enabled.
3. To return to normal mode, move
the shift lever to the right, to
position D.
Sport Mode Off will appear for 3
seconds in the Driver Information
Centre.
