Maintenance & troubleshooting
unit maintenance
Be certain that:
– the unit is maintained by qualified
personnel only;
– work to the unit is carried out
only when the power supply is
switched off.
The units interior should be checked once
a year for deposition of dust on the heat
exchanger and in the fans. This requires
opening the unit (the numbers correspond
with the numbers in the figure in appendix
A):
1. Remove the air intake grille (2).
2. Remove the inspection panel (5).
3. Inspect the heat exchanger (6) and the
fans (7).
4. Remove deposited dust with a vacuum
cleaner or with compressed air.
5. Assemble the inspection panel (5).
6. Assemble the air intake grille (2).
The motors in the fans are maintenance
free; they do not need to be lubricated.
The units exterior should be cleaned with a
household cleaning agent.

Table 3 (shown on the next page) contains
a run-down of problems that could occur,
their possible causes and the actions to
resolve them.

Be certain that:
– the unit is disassembled by
qualified personnel only;
– the unit is disassembled only
when the power supply is
switched off.
The BX-series air curtains have a working
life of at least 10 years, provided that they
are used normally and maintained regularly.
When your unit needs to be replaced you
should discard it as described below (the
numbers correspond with the numbers in
the figure in appendix A):
1. Loosen the securing nuts.
2. Remove the unit from the suspension
construction.
3. Disassemble the air intake grille (2).
4. Disassemble the inspection panel (5).
5. Disassemble the discharge section (3).
6. Disassemble the discharge grille (4).
7. Disassemble the heat exchanger (6).
8. Disassemble the fans (7).
9. Remove the wiring and the gland(s).
Discard the parts in accordance with local
laws and regulations. See table 4 for the
composition of each part.
