Battery and Battery Charger
The enclosed operating instructions for the
battery charger must be read carefully!
The battery and battery charger are designed
to complement each other. When charging the
battery, use only a Bosch battery charger de-
signed for it with a charging voltage that corre-
sponds with the battery (see type plate). Com-
bining different rated voltages causes damage
to the battery charger.
Allow the heated battery to cool before charg-
ing.
Do not open the battery, and protect from im-
pact. Store in a dry and frost-free place.
Cover the contacts of a removed battery. Dan-
ger of fire results when shorted by a metal ob-
ject!
Do not throw the battery into the household
waste, into fire or water.

Before Putting into Operation

Battery Charging
A battery that is new or has not been used for a
longer period does not develop its full capacity
until after approximately 5 charging/discharging
cycles.
To remove the battery 15, release and fold up
battery clip 14 and pull the battery out of the han-
dle. Do not apply force.
The battery is fitted with an NTC temperature
feeler which only permits charging in surround-
ings with a temperature of between 0 °C and
45 °C. This ensures high battery service life.
A significantly reduced working period after
charging indicates that the batteries are used and
must be replaced.
Observe the notes on environmental protec-
tion.

Operating Instructions
Finger guard
Before each work step, adjust the finger guard 2
to the material thickness to be cut with the
knurled nut 1.
When the machine is not being used, set the fin-
ger guard 2 all the way down.
Cutting different materials
Flooring materials (carpet, PVC, linoleum,
rubber): For exact abutting of carpets, lay the
ends over each other and secure them. Do not tilt
the guide edge 3 while cutting and align it parallel
to the floor. After finishing the cut, reset the finger
guard 2 back to the height of the single flooring
material.
Fabrics; felt: Depending on fabric type and cut-
ting pattern, up to 10 layers can be cut at the
same time (up to approx. 3 layers when cutting
felt). To avoid moving of the cutting patterns, tack
them together as required.
Leather: Handle the cutting of leather with re-
spect to the sliding capability of the leather. The
cutting thickness or number of layers that can be
cut depend on the respective leather quality.
Additional materials that can be cut are cork, cor-
rugated board, cardboard, dry wallpaper, veneer,
foam and foil.
