Cutting with accessories
Edge trimmer (see figure
Used for flush cutting of flooring materials. Cut off
the flooring material approx. 5 – 8 cm over the re-
quired edge.
Attach the edge trimmer 16 and and position it
into the corner, with the right-angled surfaces
pointing ahead. Press the flooring material firmly
towards the wall corner, against the running sur-
face of the edge trimmer.
Adjust the finger guard 2 to the material thickness
to be cut, switch the machine on and slowly guide
the polygon blade 5 towards the material. While
cutting, ensure that the flooring material is always
pressed plane against edge guide and wall sur-
face.
Strip cutter (see figure
The strip cutter 18 is used to cut strips of equal
width.
Attach the strip cutter 18 and adjust the guide 17
to the required width.
Insert the edge of the material into the guide 17,
switch on the machine and slowly guide the poly-
gon blade 5 towards the material. While cutting,
ensure that the guide 17 is always led parallel
along the edge of the material.
Sharpening the polygon knife
Before any work on the machine itself,
remove the battery.
Loosen the sheet metal screw 7 and remove the
blade guard 8 and the spacer bushing 9. Secure
the polygon blade 5 by inserting a pin through the
locking bore 6. Loosen screw 10 and remove the
polygon blade 5. Set edges on the polygon blade
with a whetstone, whetting upon the facets. In
case a burr developes on the rear side, carefully
remove it with the whetstone.

Tips
The cutting performance of the machine depends
on the condition of the blade in use and on the
battery.
Excessive feed considerably reduces the cutting
capacity per battery charge.
Keep the cutting blade clean and free from mate-
rial residue.
Optimum cutting results can be determined
through practical testing.

Maintenance and Cleaning

Before any work on the machine itself, re-
move the battery.
Do not open the battery, and protect from impact.
Store in a dry and frost-free place.
For safe and proper working, always keep
the machine and the ventilation slots clean.
The oil felt pad 11 ensures a continuous oil film
on the rear side of the polygon blade 5. After
approx. 3 hours of operation, the oil felt pad must
be relubricated through the opposite hole with
1 – 2 drops of sewing machine oil.
If the machine should fail despite the care taken
in manufacturing and testing procedures, repair
should be carried out by an after-sales service
centre for Bosch power tools.
