Putting into Operation

Always use the correct supply voltage!
The voltage of the power source must agree with the
value given on the nameplate of the machine.
Machines designated for 230 V can also be operated
with 220 V.
Switching On/Off
Switching on:
Slide the on-off switch 1 toward the front.
Switching off:
Slide the on-off switch 1 toward the rear.

Working Instructions

Applying the machine to the metal only after it
has been switched on.
Advancing too fast significantly reduces the service life
of the tools and can damage the machine.
Sharp tools result in good cutting performance and
protect the machine.
Change the tools regularly.
Maximum Sheet Metal Thickness
The maximum sheet metal thickness that can be cut
d
is dependent on the strength of the material to be
max
worked.
With the nibbler, sheet metal with following strength
can be cut straight and without deformation:
Material
Steel
Steel
Steel
Corrosion, rust, heat resistant
Aluminium
Plastic
Cooling and Lubrication
Lubricate the top side of the sheet along the cutting line
with cutting oil. This prolongs the service-life of the die.
When cutting aluminium, dip the complete punch in
lubricant from time to time.
8
Nibbling to a Scribed Line or with a Template
Cuts may be executed easily by guiding the nibbler
along a template or a straight edge.
When cutting, guide the unit with a slight thrust in the
cutting direction. Cutting takes place during the
downward movement of the punch.
For interior cuts, a starting hole of 16 mm diameter is
required.
For straight cutting, secure the die 5 against rotating
by tightening the clamping screw 4.
For curved cutting, loosen the clamping screw 4. The
die is then free to rotate and positions itself in the
direction of advancement.

Changing the tool

Before any work on the machine itself, pull the
mains plug.
Replacing the Die
Unscrew the sleeve nut 3 with an SW 30 open-
ended spanner and remove. Pull off the die 5.
Insert a new, well oiled die.

For safe and proper working, always keep the
machine and the ventilation slots clean.
If the machine should happen to fail despite the care
taken in manufacture and testing, repair should be
carried out by an authorised customer services agent
for Bosch power tools.
For all correspondence and spare parts orders, always
include the 10-digit order number of the machine.
