7.3.2 lubrication of spline

For flange mounted motors, the spline shall normally not be subject to radial load.
With no radial load, the spline shaft can be oiled before mounting the motor. If the
motor is subject to radial load, the splines shall be filled up with oil. See Table 10: Oil
volume for lubrication of spline connection
1. Lubricate and install O-ring at leading edge of motor bore. (O-ring is included in
delivery)
2. Check shaft/splines for burrs and lubricate shaft/splines.
3. Mark spline tooth location on outside of motor bore to assist alignment during
installation.
4. Mount the motor on to the shaft. For screw dimensions and tightening torque,
see Table 8: Dimensions installation tolerances CA 10 CA 20 and Table 9: Dimensions
installation tolerances CA 30 CA 40
5. Bolt the motor to the flange.
6. Fill up hydraulic oil to the G3/8 tread. (see Fig. 11: Flange mounted motor, shaft
horizontal)
7. Torque the G3/8 plug. Torque = 30 Nm (22 lbf·ft).
8. Mount the cover. Torque = 10 Nm (7 lbf·ft).
