High-resolution Colour Camera
GB
Please read these operating instructions carefully
prior to the installation and keep them for later use.
1 Applications
This high-resolution colour camera is especially de-
signed for application in video surveillance systems
(CCTV) and can be mounted to the ceiling or wall. In
its robust metal housing, the camera is weatherproof
(protective class of housing IP 65).
The camera is equipped with a zoom lens with
automatic iris control, an electronic shutter, and an
automatic gain control (AGC). To obtain an optimum
colour quality during day operation, an IR suppression
filter is placed in front of the lens. When darkness falls
which is recognized by the light sensor (8), the camera
will change to black-and-white reproduction, the 30
infrared LEDs (7) will light up, and the IR suppression
filter will be replaced by an IR focus compensation fil-
ter. Via on-screen insertions the camera offers addi-
tional adjusting facilities, e.g. threshold value for swit-
ching over, backlight compensation, mirror-inverted
picture display.
Installed heating elements ensure a reliable operation
even at low temperatures.

2 Important Notes

The camera corresponds to all required directives of
the EU and is therefore marked with
Protect the camera against extreme temperatures
(admissible ambient temperature range - 10 °C to
+40 °C).
Never use aggressive detergents or chemicals for
cleaning the housing.

No guarantee claims for the camera and no liability
for any resulting personal damage or material
damage will be accepted if the camera is used for
other purposes than originally intended, if it is not
correctly installed, or not repaired in an expert way.
If the camera is to be put out of operation
definitively, take it to a local recycling plant
for a disposal which is not harmful to the
environment.
3 Mounting and Connection
1) Tightly screw the base with the supplied screws to
the ceiling or wall. For predrilling the mounting
holes the supplied drilling template may be used.
Lead the connection cable through an opening in
the wall or through the lateral cutout in the base, as
shown in fig.1.
If the camera is exposed to humidity, e. g. in
case of outside installation, protect the lateral cable
inlet against penetration of humidity.
The cable distributor (4) and the connections (9
and 10) are not weatherproof. In case of an outside
installation they must be protected accordingly.
2) Connect the BNC inline jack (9) via a 75 Ω coaxial
cable to the video input of the monitor. Observe the
correct 75 Ω termination at the monitor or in case of
series connection at the last monitor. With a cable
length of more than 100 m a video amplifier should
be inserted between the camera and the long cable
.
to compensate the signal loss caused by the cable
resistance.
3) The camera can either be operated via a regulated
power supply unit with 12 V
with 24 V~. The maximum current consumption is

Connect the respective power source to the
power supply inline jack (10). For the connection, a
plug with the dimensions 5.5/2.1 mm (Ø outside/
inside) is required.
4) Switch on the monitor and the power supply of the
camera.
After each setting into operation a status indica-
tion is inserted in the camera picture for a few
seconds. It indicates the present adjustments of
some camera functions: Each of the seven rec-
tangles of the indication stands for a function. If a
rectangle is above the line, the respective function
is switched on, if it is below the line, the function is
switched off. The factory settings of the camera
with DC operation are as follows:

5) Align the camera by tilting and panning it to the sur-
veillance zone. For this purpose release the set-
screws (1 to 3) for the corresponding movement
axes (the required hexagon key is supplied) and
retighten them after aligning.
6) If required, release the setscrew (5) for the sun-
shield (6) and displace the sunshield so that the
lens is protected against direct sunlight. Then
retighten the screw.
