Conditions such as restlessness, mental
deterioration and dementia or seizure disorders
(uncontrolled body movement), sleeping
problems, and incontinence can significantly
impact a patient's risk of entrapment. Pediatric
patients or patients with small body size may also
have an increased risk of entrapment.
– Monitor patients with these conditions
frequently.
WARNING!
Risk of Injury or Damage
To avoid injury or damage from instability,
entanglement, or misuse:
– Evaluate residents prior to allowing them to
use a trapeze.
– Only use the Invacare Heavy Duty Trapeze
(1153386) with the CS Bed.
– Never allow children to use, play, or swing on
the trapeze.
– The Heavy Duty Trapeze is NOT designed to
support the total body weight of an individual.
Use it for assistance ONLY.
– When in use, always rotate the trapeze until
the handle is located over the center of the
bed and ensure that it drops down into the
anti-rotation position.

WARNING!
Risk of Injury or Damage
Contact between the floor and the assist rail
may cause the bed to become unstable. An
unstable bed may tilt from horizontal and/or drop
suddenly causing property damage or personal
injury. To avoid injury or damage from instability:
– Before lowering the bed, ensure the assist rail
is not in the transfer position. Injury from
patient falls may occur even when operating
the side rails as instructed. Place the bed in the
lowest position to minimize the risk from falls.
For the CS3 bed only: Place the bed in the
lowest position possible without disengaging
the foot pad lock mechanism.
– Invacare recommends removing the trapeze
when using the Trendelenburg function.
– DO NOT install an 84 Inch CS Bed kit on a bed
that is equipped with the Trendelenburg and
Reverse Trendelenburg feature.
