Orange LED around the voice activation mode ON/OFF button
(7):
when the light is ON this indicates that the voice activation
mode is enabled; when it switches OFF this indicates there is con-
stant noise/sound transmitted from the child unit. The selected
operating mode remains enabled when the unit is switched off
and on.
NOTE: when the parent unit (receiver) is switched on, it
searches for the transmission channel which connects it to the
child unit (transmitter):
the power indicator LED (5) will there-
fore blink until it establishes a connection with the child unit
(transmitter).
Warning!
When the parent unit (receiver) is switched on, always check the
operating status of the child unit (transmitter)! After switching
on the units, always check that the signal transmitted is actu-
ally received at the distance and/or in the area the parent unit
is placed.
It is recommended to ask someone to help you test the units;
ask them to transmit from the child unit (transmitter) whilst you
move around the reception area with the parent unit (receiver) to
check that the signal is strong enough.
3. Replacing the batteries on the child unit
(transmitter) and the rechargeable battery
pack on the parent unit (receiver).
Warning: These operations must only be carried out by an
adult.
- Only use alkaline batteries (child unit - transmitter) and re-
chargeable batteries (parent unit - receiver) equal or equivalent
(with the same electrical characteristics) to those indicated in
this manual.
• Always remove dead batteries and/or the rechargeable battery
pack when you don't intend to use the transmitter and receiver
for a certain length of time. This will prevent the batteries from
leaking liquid which will damage the devices and/or anything
in the vicinity.
- Do not short-circuit the battery poles.
- Never use rechargeable batteries on the child unit (transmit-
ter)
Note:
- If the rechargeable battery pack life starts to decrease signifi -
cantly, it will be necessary to replace it (this is normal as all
rechargeable batteries run out over time)
- The rechargeable battery pack supplied must only be recharged
using the parent unit (receiver) and the mains adaptor supplied,
or by inserting it into the recharger slot (9) on the child unit
(transmitter).
- Do not attempt to recharge non-rechargeable batteries as they
might explode.
- This product is not designed for use with lithium batteries.
WARNING: Improper use could be hazardous
• Never leave dead batteries in the child unit (transmitter), al-
ways replace them immediately or they may leak corrosive and/
or hazardous liquids.
• Never leave a low rechargeable battery pack in the parent unit
(receiver), always recharge it immediately (or replace if dead)
as it may leak corrosive and/or hazardous liquids.
• If the batteries happen to leak liquid, protect your hands and
replace the batteries immediately, making sure you clean the
compartment and any other areas affected by the liquid be-
forehand. Wash your hands thoroughly when you have fi nished.
Dispose of all dead batteries according to the differentiated
waste collection regulations in your area. Never burn them or
disperse them in the environment.
• Never mix new and old or different types of batteries on the
child unit (transmitter).
• When inserting the batteries in the child unit (transmitter), al-
ways check that the poles are inserted as indicated on the bat-
tery compartment
• When connecting the rechargeable battery pack on the parent
unit (receiver), always check that the pole is inserted in the right
direction.
• Remove the alkaline batteries/rechargeable battery pack before
disposing of the product.
• Never leave alkaline batteries/rechargeable battery packs and/
or any tools used to remove them within the reach of children.
• Never burn or dispose of old batteries/rechargeable battery
packs into the environment or with urban waste; dispose of
them at an appropriate differentiated collection point accord-
ing to the laws in force.
3.1 Replacing alkaline batteries on the child unit
(transmitter)
Use a fl at headed tool to remove the screws on the battery com-
partment panel (7) under the child unit (transmitter) and remove
the cover. Remove all 4 alkaline batteries from the compartment
and replace them with 4 identical 1.5 Volt AA batteries, making
sure the poles are inserted as indicated on the compartment.
Replace the battery compartment cover (7) and tighten the
screw fi rmly.
3.2 Fitting the rechargeable battery pack inside the parent
unit (receiver) .
When you purchase the product, the rechargeable battery pack
is not fi tted inside the parent unit (receiver) and is packed sepa-
rately inside the box.
Remove the rechargeable battery pack compartment cover (10)
behind the receiver.
Insert the rechargeable battery pack supplied, making sure the
pole is in the right direction (the red line on the parent unit must
be aligned with the red line on the rechargeable battery pack).
Position the rechargeable battery pack so that the connector and
cables connected to it remain on the right side of the battery
pack and are completely unravelled. Press the rechargeable bat-
tery pack compartment cover (10) back into place.
3.3 Replacing the rechargeable battery pack inside the pa-
rent unit (receiver) .
Remove the rechargeable battery pack compartment cover (10)
behind the receiver. Remove the rechargeable battery pack, if
dead, by gently removing the connector plug from the parent
unit (receiver) and replace it with a rechargeable battery pack
identical to that supplied with the product i.e. NiMh 2.4V 850
mAh (2x1.2V AA type), making sure the connection plug is con-
