Authorized use
The device (RG-20/85-SAFELOCK ) is exclusively used for gripping, transporting and laying concrete pipes, stoneware pipes
and other suitable pipes with outside diameters from 200 mm to 870 mm.
The device is equipped with a lifting eye for various slings and can therefore be attached to a carrier (e.g. excavator).
1) SAFELOCK: When lifting the product, the device generates tension on the pipe, which is maintained even when the
product (concrete pipe) is set down.
This is achieved by internal interlocking, which is released only if the operator of the carrier deliberately initiates it.
These internal interlocking releases after the final positioning (of the gripping good) by moving of the crane eye in a setting
(in lock-in-position "idle stroke"). This allows operation with only one person (e.g excavator operator).
The SAFELOCK-safety catch prevents that the clamping force decreases by so-called „slack rope", when the already
gripped concrete pipe got caught e.g. on a ditch and thereby the gripping good could slip out of the device. Exact
sequence see chapter "Operation".
The concrete pipes must be gripped in centre of gravity, otherwise there is a danger of slipping off!
Be sure that the concrete tubes are completely matured.
•
The device is only designed for the use specified in this documentation.
