Replacing TPK Series Mechanical Seal
1. Removing mech seal.

Place the pump on work bench with motor down.

Draw the line all the way down to pump casing.

Remove the suction intercon-nector.

Mark the number of the intermediate chambers and
draw a line along with straps.

Loose the nuts on straps.
Remove the 2 straps.

Remove the coupling covers.

  • Page 1 Replacing TPK Series Mechanical Seal 1. Removing mech seal. WI-D3-S-B019E-1 Place the pump on work bench with motor down. Mark the number of the intermediate chambers and draw a line along with straps. Draw the line all the way down to pump casing.
  • Page 2 Hold the coupling and loose the lock nut. Remove all impellers, sleeves and intermediate chambers and place them in order. Remove the cap. Remove the spring. Remove the retainer. Remove the washer.
  • Page 3 Remove the rotary parts of mechanical seal. Remove the stationary part.
  • Page 4 2. Assembling mech seal. Spray water on the shaft as lubrication. Place the stationary part in position. Press in stationary part. Before press in rotary parts, insert the sleeve through the hex shaft aligning the slots on sleeve to tabs on washer.
  • Page 5 Place a new gasket on pump casing. Place back all impellers, sleeves and intermediate chambers in order. Place the lock nut. Hold the coupling and tighten up the lock nut. ※Torque 140 kgf.cm Place the suction intercon-nector. Install the 2 straps.
  • Page 6 Tighten up the nuts on straps. Remove the strainer. ※Torque 120-140 kgf.cm Rotate the shaft and make sure no rubbing noise Install the strainer. inside. Otherwise, loose the screws and repeat the above process until the rotation is smooth. Install the coupling covers. Remove all marks.
