1.2 Description of the circulating pump
The purpose of the circulating pump is to pump the water from the swimming pool through the filter
container and back to the swimming pool (refer also to the enclosed separate instructions).
1.2.1 Pre-filter (please clean regularly)
The pre-filter installed on the suction side protects the pump against coarse soiling (e.g. hair, leaves,
small stones). We recommend incorporating a gate valve (not included in the scope of delivery)
between the skimmer and the filter pump; this prevents greater water losses from your swimming pool,
particularly when cleaning the pre-filter.
1.2.2 Shaft seal
The pump is equipped with a mechanical seal between the pump housing and motor for sealing the
motor shaft. This seal is an expendable part and not under warranty (refer to Pump 4.2.3).
1.3 Description of the filter container
The filter container is a high quality device, the purpose of which is to mechanically rid the swimming
pool water of suspended matter such as hair, skin flakes, flower pollen and other contaminants using
special swimming pool silica sand (0.4 - 0.8 mm). This is performed at a pressure of 0.4 - 0.8 bars. In
the event of increasing pressure (loud pump noise), the filter is to be backwashed (refer to item 2.4).
This in no way constitutes a defect in the pump and is on the contrary a normal process since the
pump has to work against greater resistance when the filter container/filter sand is excessively
contaminated.
