Troubleshooting

Most problems are easy to solve. See the troubleshooting table below for normal
problems and how to resolve them. If a problem cannot be solved, contact the
supplier.
WARNING – Before any type of maintenance or inspection is carried out, stop
the engine and wait 5 minutes until all parts have cooled off. Detach the spark plug
cable and keep it away from the spark plug.

Problem
The engine does not start
The engine lacks power

Possible solution
Is the on switch set at "ON"?
Is the fuel lever open?
Is the petrol fresh and clean? If not,
change it. Use a fuel stabiliser, if
necessary.
Is the spark plug clean? If it is dirty or
scratched, replace it. If it is greasy
with oil, clean the ignition electrode
before putting it back in:
Hold a rag over the hole and pull the
recoil starter repeatedly to blow out
all oil from the cylinder. Afterwards
wipe off the spark plug and put it
back in again.
Check that there is enough oil in the
engine.
Is the throttle set at "RUN"
Is the air filter clean? If it is dirty, rinse
it.
Is the spark plug clean? If it is dirty or
scratched, replace it. If it is oily, then
clean the cylinder before putting it
back in again:
