To start a warm engine
1. Squeeze the throttle trigger.
2. Pull the starter rope handle until the engine starts.
To stop
Push the stop switch to stop the engine.(Fig. 37 )
Note: The stop switch automatically goes back to its
initial position.
To operate the grass trimmer
CAUTION: Make sure that you slow the
engine to idle speed after each operation. A
long period at full throttle without a load on
the engine can cause damage to the engine.
Note: Clean the cover of the trimmer head when you
attach a new trimmer line to prevent vibrations. Examine
other parts of the trimmer head and clean if it is
necessary.
To trim the grass
1. Hold the trimmer head immediately above the
ground at an angle.(Fig. 38 ) Do not push the grass
trimmer line into the grass.
2. Decrease the length of the grass trimmer line by
10-12 cm (4-4.75 in) and decrease engine speed to
decrease the risk of damage to plants.
3. Use 80 % throttle when you cut grass near objects.

To cut the grass
1. Make sure that the grass trimmer line is parallel to
the ground when you cut.(Fig. 40 )
2. Do not push the trimmer head to the ground. The
ground and the product can be damaged.
3. Do not let the trimmer head touch the ground
continuously, it can cause damage to the trimmer
head.
4. Use full throttle when you move the product from
side to side to cut grass.(Fig. 41 ) Make sure that the
grass trimmer line is parallel to the ground.
To operate the pole saw
When you operate the product, obey these instructions:
WARNING: Read and understand the safety
chapter before you clean, repair or do
maintenance on the product.

Hold the product tightly with your two hands to keep
the product balance.
Operate the product slowly and cut carefully.
Be careful of the direction in which the branch falls.
Be careful of the springpoles when you cut.
Note: Springpoles are small limbs which can catch
the chain and cause you to lose balance or control.
Be careful of the springback when the tension in the
wood releases.
Operate the product in a clear area. Frequently clean
fallen branches from the area to prevent injuries.
Cut long branches in pieces when you remove them.
To cut with the pole saw
1. Set the product to the full throttle and apply a light
pressure.
2. Cut for the first time 15 cm (6 in.) away from the
trunk. Cut 1/3 through the bottom of the limb.(Fig.
42 )
3. Move the pole saw 5-4 cm (2-4 in.) out on the limb.
Cut for the second time fully through the limb.(Fig.
43 )
4. Cut for the third time. Do not cut too near it can injury
the tree.
Note: When you cut for the second and third time,
put the product against the limb to keep the branch
stable.

MAINTENANCE

Maintenance schedule
Make sure that you obey the maintenance schedule.
The intervals are calculated from daily use of the
product. The intervals are different if you do not use the
product each day. Only do the maintenance work that is
WARNING: Do not cut with the product in
the rearward or forward direction.
