    Multi-Input Digital Scaler with Audio 4.5 Front-Panel Lockout Under certain circumstances you might want to disable the front-panel controls (for example, to prevent unauthorized or accidental changes to the settings while the unit is in use). To disable the front-panel controls you must use the RS-232 port (see Chapter 5 for details).

Serial Control You can control the video input selection and signal parameter settings for the scaler via an external control system by using the RS-232 port on the unit. Use a straight-through M/F DB9 serial cable to connect the unit to the PC. Only the TX, RX, and GND pins are used in the connector.
