Installation
The Janus Controller must be installed into the first slot in the base (next to the power supply).
Remove power from the chassis. Align the circuit board with the connector next to the power supply. Slide
the controller into the rack until the connector seats. Use the thumbscrews to secure the controller to the
rack.
Apply power to the base power supply. The P

Startup
The Janus Controller takes about 12-15 seconds to complete the startup sequence. During startup, you
should see a scrolling decimal point in the front panel alphanumeric display.
When startup is complete, the firmware version is briefly displayed and then one of the following:
•
If network parameters were assigned by the DHCP server, the IP Address and subnet mask in CIDR
format is displayed.
•
If not, "no IP E010 . . ." will scroll across the display and Error LED will blink indicating manual
network setup is required.

Setting the Network Parameters Manually
If network parameters were set by DHCP server (Error LED is off), this section can be skipped.
The SD Card Ethernet Port Setup provides an alternate method to specify a fixed IP Address for the
controller Primary Subnet configuration when a DCHP server is not accessible.
This operation requires the following steps:
a) Remove power to the base and remove CPU from the chassis.
b) Set Module Switch 4 to CLOSED position. Ensure Switch 2 is OPEN.
c) Re-install CPU in chassis.

This LED is set ON when the application program is
running in the CPU. It will always be OFF on initial
startup.
This LED will blink if the network parameters could not
be obtained from the DHCP server. This indicates manual
network setup is required.
