Maintenance and Cleaning

 Always disconnect the machine from the power supply before maintaining or
cleaning it.
 Ensure that the ventilation slots are open and clean before each use.
 Never clean the machine with water. Use a soft cloth to clean the housing. Do
not use aggressive chemicals or solvents to clean the machine as these may
damage the plastic case.
 The mechanical parts of the machine are maintenance free.
 After prolonged use of the machine, only the carbon brushes must be checked
and replaced, if necessary.
To check or replace the carbon brushes open the carbon brush cover (4). The
cover is fixed in place with a screw. Use an appropriate slotted screwdriver to
remove it. Then remove the carbon brushes. If the old brushes are shorter
than 5 mm, replace the carbon brushes with the replacement brushes provid-
ed. After replacing the carbon brushes put the carbon brush cover back on and
refasten the cover screw. After exchanging the carbon brushes, run in the
new brushes by allowing the machine to run at idle for a few minutes
 Other maintenance or repair work should only be performed by a qualified
technician.
