You must configure new interfaces and bring them up before you can verify them with screen
displays. Proceed to the following section to configure each new interface.

Verify that the power LED on the APP-LTR2 is lit. (See Figure 4.) If it is not on, do the
following:
•
Check the connection at both ends of the internal ribbon cable between the applique and
the CSC-C2CTR. The applique draws power directly from the card.
•
Swap the cable in question with the cable from a functional APP-LTR2 or with a spare
cable, if either are available.
Check the four red LEDs on the CSC-CCTL2. (See Figure 15.) Ensure that each LED goes
on for each ciscoBus slot occupied by a ciscoBus card; the ciscoBus controller LEDs do
not light for ciscoBus slots that contain Multibus cards. (See the section "Checking LEDs"
on page 27 for LED descriptions.) If any do not go on, do the following:
•
If an LED for a ciscoBus slot with a new card fails to light, ensure that the card is firmly
seated in the ciscoBus slot. Turn OFF the system power, reseat the card, and turn ON
the system power again.
•
Ensure that the interface card in question is installed in one of the four ciscoBus
interface slots. (See Figure 5.)
•
If the CSC-CCTL2 LEDs for other occupied slots are lit, turn OFF system power,
remove the interface card in question, install it in a different ciscoBus slot, and restart
the system.
•
If the ciscoBus card still fails to turn on the LED on the CSC-CCTL2, refer to the
section "System Compatibility Requirements" on page 6, and ensure that the card type
and microcode are compatible with your system.
Check the system console terminal and ensure that the system banner is displayed, followed
by a list of the installed hardware. (See page 6 for an example of this display, which is the
same as the output for the show version command.) CSC-C2CTRs are displayed as CTR
interfaces, and the number of interfaces displayed should include the new interfaces you
just installed.
If the LEDs fail to go on correctly, or if the startup screen does not appear after a second

Replace and tighten any remaining cover screws.
Replace and secure the front access panel.
Turn ON the system power to configure your network interface.
