Installing Long Ground Straps
Ground straps, which are included with all appliques, ground the applique to the chassis to prevent
EMI noise on your network interface. The applique card cage containing the APP-LTR2(s) should
already be installed in the chassis and secured with at least two screws. Refer to Figure 12 while you
install the long ground straps.

Remove the Phillips screw from the top center of the applique.
Position the ground strap so that it straddles the applique and the rear panel of the chassis.
Align the holes in the ground strap with those on the rear panel and the applique.
Secure the ground strap with the two Phillips screws.
Repeat the same process for the bottom ground strap.
Connect ground straps to other appliques as necessary, and proceed to the section
"Finishing the Installation" on page 25.
APP-LTR2 Long Ground Strap Installation
Ground strap
Remove the Phillips screw from the top center of each applique.
Position the ground strap so that it straddles both appliques and the rear panel of the chassis.
Align the holes in the ground strap with those on the rear panel and the appliques.
Secure the ground strap with the four Phillips screws.
Repeat the same process for the bottom ground strap.
Connect ground straps to other appliques as necessary, and proceed to the next section,
"Finishing the Installation."
