Checking the Hindrance Detection
The sliding gate opener is equipped with a hindrance detection that guarantees
the necessary safe operation, if the gate touches an obstacle while opening or
closing. When touching an obstacle the hindrance detection will reverse the
moving of the gate.
When all settings on the sliding gate opener are finished, the hindrance detection
must be checked.
The hindrance detection adjustment is in inverse correlation with the stall force
adjustment of the potentiometers A and B. That means, the higher the stall force
is adjusted while opening resp. closing the gate, the lower the hindrance detection
will be.
For checking the hindrance detection, proceed as follows:
1. Place a rigid object along the gate path and operate the sliding gate opener
until it touches the rigid object while opening resp. closing the gate. As soon
as the gate touches the rigid object, it must stop movement and reverse to
opposite direction.
2. If the gate does not reverse, increase the fine adjustment of the hindrance
detection accordingly, by turning the respective potentiometer counter
clockwise.
Hints:
If fine adjustment of the hindrance detection is set too high, it might happen that
the gate will reverse very easily in case of very low resistance, e. g. due to strong
wind, heavy snow fall or branches resp. twigs in the moving path of the gate.
In case of power failure, fine adjustment of the hindrance detection must be
checked again and, if necessary it must be re-adjusted.
