Adjusting the Throttle

1. Position the throttle lever rearward so it stops against
the control-panel slot.
2. Loosen the throttle-cable connector on the
injection-pump lever arm

3. Hold the injection-pump lever arm against the low-idle
stop and tighten the cable connector.
4. Loosen the screws securing the throttle control to the
control panel.
5. Push the throttle control lever all the way forward.
6. Slide the stop plate until it contacts the throttle lever
and tighten the screws securing the throttle control to
the control panel.
7. If the throttle does not stay in position during
operation, torque the locknut, used to set the friction
device on the throttle lever, to 5 to 6 N∙m (44 to 53
inch-lb).
Note: The maximum force required to operate the
throttle lever should be 89 N (20 lb).
