If you have followed the instructions contained in this manual and have difficulty in operating your VCR, locate the SYMPTOM in the left column
below.
Check the corresponding POSSIBLE CAUSE and CORRECTIVE ACTION columns to identify and remedy the problem.
SYMPTOM
No power
Playback picture is noisy.
No playback picture.
No picture, no sound
TV program cannot be recorded.
Cassette is ejected when the REC or QTR
button is pressed.
Tape operation buttons do not work when
the power is on and a cassette is inserted.
Abnormal operation
On-the-air TV programs cannot be seen or
the TV picture is noisy.
No remote control operation.
Playback picture may be blurred or noisy while the TV program received
is clear. Dirt accumulated on the head after long periods of use causes
this problem. In this case, clean the video head using a video head
cleaning tape.
When the cabinet has become dirty or stained, dip a piece of gauze or
soft cloth into a diluted solution of neutral cleanser and wipe clean.
Never use thinners or benzine since they will damage the surface of the
cabinet.

POSSIBLE CAUSE
• The power cord is not connected.
• The POWER button has been pressed to turn
the power off.
• The TIMER REC button has been pressed to
activate the timer.
• The CHANNEL sclcctor is not set to the proper
channel.
• The connecting cords are not inserted firmly.
• Video head is dirty.
• Tracking is not adjusted.
• The CHANNEL selector on the TV is not set to
the proper channel.
• The TV/VCR button is not set correctly.
. The INPUT button is set to LINE 1 or 2.
• The erasure prevention tab on the cassette has
been removed.
• Moisture may have condensed inside the unit.
• Externai noise has affected the built-in micro-
computer.
• Connections are not correctly made.
• This unit is turned on.
• The antenna connections are not correctly
made or the antenna has a trouble.
• Weak batteries.

• Connect the power cord to the AC outlet.
• Press the POWER button again.
• Press the TIMER REC button again.
• Set to the position of the TV channel for the
VCR.
• Check the connections.
• Clean the video head.
• Set the AUTO TRACKING button to ON, or
set it to MANUAL and keep it pressed unttl
the clearest possible picture is obtained.
• Set to the position of the TV channel for the
VCR.
• Set the TV/VCR button correctly.
• Press the INPUT button so that the channel
number appears.
• Cover cellophane tape over the tab opening.
• Leave the unit on for 2 hours. then proceed
with operation.
• Disconnect the power cord from the AC out-
let. Connect it again and operate the unit
after a while.
• Check the connections.
• Press the POWER button to turn off the unit.
• Check the antenna and antenna connec-
tions.
• Replace the batteries with new ones.
