Cutting a hedge
1.
Hold the hedge cutter with both hands and keep the blade away from you while pressing the
throttle trigger.
2.
Press the lock button and press in the throttle trigger.
3.
Cut the hedge.
4.
Release the throttle trigger when you are done and then turn the power switch to the stop
position.
5.
Attach the transport guard.
Cutting technique
• Use some string to help you keep the hedge straight. Decide on the desired height of the hedge.
Stretch a piece of string along the hedge at that height. Cut the hedge just above this piece of
string.
• Never attempt to cut a hedge that is higher than your normal reach. You must hold the hedge
cutter with both hands for the entire time you operate it.
• Cut the sides of the hedge so that it becomes narrower towards the top. A larger portion of the
hedge is exposed when it is shaped in this way, and it will therefore grow more evenly.
• Use a wide, sweeping movement when you cut shoots so they are fed directly into the blades.
Older parts of the hedge have thicker branches and twigs, and are best trimmed using a sawing
movement.
• Never attempt to cut branches thicker than 28 mm or obviously ones that are too large to be cut
by the blades. Use a manual hand saw or branch saw to saw larger branches.
NB: Follow the general maintenance instructions below.
WARNING!
• Never attempt to repair the hedge cutter by yourself.
• Take note of any parts that are loose or overheated.
• Stop the hedge cutter immediately if it is not working normally. Then carefully inspect it.
• Take the hedge cutter to an authorised retailer for maintenance when necessary.
Never use the hedge cutter if it is faulty.
• Check the machine regularly to guarantee a safe and efficient operation.
Contact a retailer to carry out an accurate check of the hedge cutter.
Daily maintenance
• Clean the outer surface of the hedge cutter.
• Check the power switch is functioning.
