Log in to the router through the console port and run the display current-configuration
command to check the user-defined authentication mode.

Follow-up Procedure
Obtain the user name and password in the display
current-configuration command output.
local-user admin password simple admin
The preceding information shows that the user name is
admin and the password is admin.
local-user admin service-type telnet
Telnet users must use the user name admin and password
admin to log in to the router.
Configure a new password matching the user name. You
can use the new user name and password to log in to the
router.

local-user huawei service-type

In the preceding example, the user names of the Telnet
users are huawei and their passwords are in cipher text.
Run the following commands to set the passwords of the
huawei users to huawei.
<Huawei> system-view
[huawei] aaa
[huawei-aaa] local-user huawei password simple
huawei
[huawei-aaa] quit
