3-7-g. Word-clock generator

Although the SyncStation takes sync-signal input from a video-sync generator to synchronize video
signals, to synchronize audio from audio equipment, a sync signal from a word-clock generator is
taken as input, and the two are brought into sync. The SyncStation has a word-clock input jack and
multiple output jacks, as shown below, and can send the input master word-clock signal to multiple
audio devices.

Nuage systems allow for a variety of speaker configurations needed for monitoring environments;
what follows is a walk-through of setting up 5.1-channel speakers for a typical surround-sound
environment.
What is 5.1-channel surround??
This is the most common surround-sound format, used both by movie theaters and DVDs. It is used
in multiple encoding formats, including Dolby Digital, AC-3, and DTS. It uses the following six
speakers.
1. Center speaker (dialog)
2. Left speaker (main stereo)
3. Right speaker (main stereo)
4. Left-surround speaker (sound effects)
5. Right-surround speaker (sound effects)
6. Low-frequency effects speaker
