3. Connect the red positive cable to the positive
terminal for jump-lead starting +.
4. Connect the red positive cable to the positive
terminal of the donor battery.
5. Connect the black negative cable to the negative
terminal of the donor battery.
6. Connect the black negative cable to the ground
point –.
7. Allow the engine of the donor vehicle to run at a
higher engine speed.
8. Start the engine. An attempted start using jump
leads should not last more than 15 seconds.
Then wait for at least one minute.
9. With engine running:
First, disconnect the black negative cable from
the ground point – then from the negative ter-
minal of the donor battery.
10.With engine running:
Disconnect the red positive cable from the pos-
itive terminal of the donor battery first, then from
the positive terminal for jump-lead starting +.
