Burning engine oil
WARNING
Engine oil can ignite if it comes into contact with hot
engine parts. Engine oil stored in non-ventilated
areas or thrown-away cloths with engine oil residues
can self-combust and result in a fire.
e Wipe up spilled engine oil with a cloth.
e Cloths soaked with engine oil must be stored in a
well-ventilated area until disposal.
e Allow the engine to cool down before topping up
engine oil.
Hot engine parts
WARNING
The engine, adjacent components and the exhaust
system become very hot when the engine is running.
e Touching poses an acute risk of burns.
e Take care when working near hot vehicle parts,
particularly the engine and the exhaust system.
e Before working in the engine compartment, al-
ways switch the engine off and let it cool
sufficiently.
e Exercise extreme caution when working in the
engine compartment.
e Top up engine oil only with the engine stopped
and ignition switched off.

system in the long term.
