ENGINE STARTS BUT DIES, Restricted fuel injection lines Clean lines and nozzles. Replace

Manual primer leaking.
Repair or replace primer.

Spark plugs fouled or improperly Clean and regap. Replace
gapped. if defective.
ENGINE RUNS ROUGHLY, WILL Propeller control in high pitch Use low pitch (high rpm) for

OR LACKS POWER.
Restriction in aircraft fuel Refer to Section 12.

Engine-driven fuel pump Refer to paragraph 11A-52.

Worn or improperly rigged Rig properly.
Replace worn
throttle or mixture control. linkage.
Spark plugs fouled or improperly Clean and regap. Replace if
gapped. defective.
Defective ignition system. Refer to paragraph 11-61.
Defective engine. Engine repair is required.
POOR IDLE CUT-OFF. Worn or improperly rigged Rig properly. Replace worn
mixture control.

Defective manifold valve. Replace.
Fuel leakage through primer. Repair or replace primer.
Auxiliary fuel pump ON. Turn to OFF position.
Defective fuel control unit. Replace unit.
Fuel contamination.
Drain all fuel and flush
out fuel system. Clean
all screens, fuel lines,
strainer, discharge
nozzles, manifold valve
and fuel pump.
