Turning the Power On

• Do not push on the lens with your hand.
• If the lens is not set for shooting, check to see if the
battery is loaded correctly. (→ 9)

Checking the Battery Level

Check that

Canon's Standard Test Method with normal
temperatures and with the flash used for 50% of
shots). At low temperatures (–10°C/14°F), the battery
capacity is approximately one third of normal capacity.
• If you are traveling or intend to take many pictures, take
a supply of spare batteries. The batteries may be
difficult to obtain at your destination.
• If you take a number of consecutive shots using the
flash, the battery level may drop off temporarily and
prevent the LCD panel from displaying data correctly. If
this occurs, switch the camera off and wait a few
minutes before switching it on again.
