Rubber seal
8. Apply a thin coat of engine oil to the
rubber seal of a new oil filter.
9. Install the new oil filter and tighten.
Torque: 26 N·m (2.7 kgf·m, 19 lbf·ft).
10. Install a new sealing washers onto the
drain bolts. Tighten the drain bolts.
Torque: 30 N·m (3.1 kgf·m, 22 lbf·ft).

11. Fill the crankcase with the recommended
oil ( P. 77) and install the oil fill cap.

CRF1000A
4.1 litres (4.3 US qt, 3.6 Imp qt)
CRF1000D
4.2 litres (4.4 US qt, 3.7 Imp qt)
When changing oil only:
CRF1000A
3.9 litres (4.1 US qt, 3.4 Imp qt)
CRF1000D
4.0 litres (4.2 US qt, 3.5 Imp qt)
12. Check the oil level.
13. Check that there are no oil leaks.
14. Install the skid plate.
