Installation Check

Checking Installation of the Branching unit, RFU, and antenna
No.
Requirement
1
Poles can bear the weight of branching units and antennas.
The installation position and direction of branching units meets the requirements specified in the
2
engineering design document.
The installation position and direction of antennas meets the requirements specified in the
3
engineering design document.
Antennas are correctly installed. Specifically, the side with a wider shroud faces upwards and the
4
side with a narrower shroud faces downwards.
5
Branching units are securely installed on poles. The connections meet wind loading requirements.
6
Antenna supports are securely installed on poles. The connections meet wind loading requirements.
7
Loads are installed for cascade ports, and RFU ports that are not in use on branching units.
8
All branching units and RFUs are grounded.
Branching units, flexible waveguides, and elliptical waveguides, and antennas are securely
9
connected.
The frequency bands of RFUs are consistent with these of the TX high and low sites of branching
10
units.
The main antenna ports, SD antenna ports, and cascade ports on branching units are connected
11
correctly.
12
Branching units are not damaged or deformed.
The bending radius and twisted angle of flexible waveguides and elliptical waveguides are within
13
the allowed range.
Antennas, branching units, and RFUs are in the protection range of the lightning arrester. (The
14
protection angle of the lightning arrester for antennas is less than 45 degrees. In mountainous and
thunder prone areas, the angle is less than 30 degrees).
15
An antenna support bar must be vertical with an antenna radome.
Ensure that the drainage holes on an antenna are on a vertical line. After the antenna is installed,
16
open the lower drainage hole.
Checking Installation of Cables
No.
Requirement
1
All outdoor connectors and ground clips are waterproofed.
2
IF cable connectors are made according to specifications. They are in good condition.
3
IF cables are not bent or twisted. The shield layer is not exposed.
4
Drip loops are made for IF cables that are led out of an RFU.
5
Before IF cables enter windows, they are grounded and have drip loops.
6
The minimum bending radius of IF cables is larger than 30 cm (11.8 in.).
7
IF cables are routed separately and tidily.
8
When IF cables are bundled on the cable ladder or cable rack, a spacing of 1 m (3.28 ft) is left.
9
Excess cables are reserved for future use.
IF cable labels are attached and bundled according to related requirements. The labels are
10
arranged neatly, facing the same direction.
Redundant IF cables are coiled around a pole or tower to form a loop with a diameter of at least 60
11
cm (23.62 in.).
12
IF cable ground points meet requirements.
13
IF cables are not bent within a range 0.5 m (1.64 ft) above and below the ground clip.
Ground cables are led from the top downwards and the angle between ground cables and IF cables
14
is less than 15 degrees.
15
For an elliptical waveguide, the portion 50 cm (1.64 ft ) to the connector is straight.
16
Elliptical waveguides are not damaged or deformed.
