Hoisting an Elliptical Waveguide
Hoisting grip
Protect the
connector.
(Optional) Bending tool
Purchase bending tools as required for bending elliptical waveguides.
 Use a hoisting grip to hoist an elliptical waveguide
Sling tie
to prevent the elliptical waveguide from being
deformed due to unbalanced force.
 When using the hoisting grip, firmly secure the two
ends of the hoisting grip.
 After hoisting an elliptical waveguide, remove the
hoisting grip and keep it well, because it can be
Elliptical
used again if the elliptical waveguide needs to be
waveguide
replaced in the future.
 Before hoisting an elliptical waveguide, use clean
Sling tie
cloth or paper to wrap elliptical waveguide
connectors for protection.

Elliptical waveguide
Branching Unit
h ≥ 50cm (20 in.)
 The part behind an elliptic waveguide connector must be kept
straight for a certain length before being bent.
 When connecting an elliptical waveguide to the branching unit,
route the elliptical waveguide straightly for at least 50cm (1.6 ft)
before bending it.
 Ensure that the bending radius of an elliptical waveguide is
larger than the minimum value of each plane.
 Do not twist an elliptical waveguide. To change the direction of
a plane, bend it twice.

waveguide
Bend an elliptical waveguide by applying
force evenly along the bent parts. Do not
apply force only on the bent parts.
