You can use the Hardware Management Console (HMC) user interface to stop the system or a logical
partition. For instructions on stopping the system, see Powering off the managed system, or you can also
find instructions at

Signing on to i5/OS using a twinaxial console

Learn how to sign on to i5/OS using the twinaxial console.
To sign on to i5/OS, to change the QSECOFR password, and to accept software license agreements,
complete the following task:
1. Type QSECOFR in the User field.
2. Type QSECOFR in the Password field, and then press Enter.
Notes:
v The password is not displayed as you type.
v The QSECOFR password is set to expire when you receive your system.
v The Sign-on Information window is displayed.
3. Press Enter. The Change Password window is displayed.
4. Type QSECOFR in the Current password field.
5. Type a new password in the New password field and in the New password (to verify) field. The new
password must follow these rules:
v Start with an alphabetic character
v Be 10 characters or fewer
