- Press RESTART on the 5110.

- Dial the data station from a nearby telephone
set.
Is the busy tone present?

handset. Data station answers after the
third ring pulse train.
Is the 3.5s answering tone (2100 Hz)
present?

- Measure the DC voltage between
C2J02 and C2J08.
Is C2J02 at -3.5VDC after three ring
pulse trains?

The jumper allows the 5110 to go to data mode
after three good ring trains are detected.
C2J02 is connected to a Transfer Relay point in
the line box. When the 5110 is in data mode,
C2J02 is -3.5VoC; otherwise, C2J02 is open.
