Assembling the Side and End Panels
NOTE: Assembly is easiest with two people.
Step 1. Identify and organize all parts on a clean, level surface. NOTE: The Short Platform Supports and the Cross
Supports look alike except that the Short Platform Supports have 3 pre-drilled holes and the Cross Supports
have 2 pre-drilled holes.
Step 2. Lay three of the Long Cedar Boards on a flat surface and press them tightly together as shown in Figure 1. Take one of the
Corners and note the positions of the holes. With the Corner oriented so the group of 3 holes is closer to the top, slide the Corner
onto the Boards. Make sure the top and bottom Cedar Boards are fully seated in the Corner, and then insert a Screw through the
Corner's top and bottom holes. Repeat to attach another Corner onto the other side of the Boards (Figure 1).
Step 3. Take a Long Platform Support and place the side with 4 pre-drilled holes onto the top Cedar Board, orienting it so that the
other side is closest the top (Figure 3). Line up the holes at each end of the support with the 2nd hole from the top on the Corners
(Figure 1) and insert a Screw into both sets of holes.
Step 4. Take two of the Flat Supports and with the pre-drilled holes oriented the same way as the holes in the Corners, slide the Flat
Supports under the Long Platform Support. Find the two other holes in the Long Platform Support (Figure 1) and line them up
with the 2nd hole from the top in the Flat Supports. Insert a Screw into each set of holes.
Step 5. Use a tape measure or the top of the Cedar Board to line up the Flat Supports so they are straight. Secure them into place by
inserting a Screw into each hole. Then insert Screws through the remaining 8 Corner holes shown in Figure 1.
Step 6. Repeat Steps 2–5 to assemble the
other Side Panel.
Step 7. Lay three of the Short Cedar Boards
on a flat surface and press them tightly
together. Lay a Flat Support onto the
middle of the Cedar Boards with the
holes oriented as shown in Figure 2
(over). Take a Short Platform Support and
place the side with the pre-drilled hole
in the middle on top of the Flat Support,
orienting it so that the other side is
closest to the top. Line up the middle
hole with the 2nd from the top hole in
the Flat Support. (Figure 2, over).
